As a wrestling fan, should the WWE honor Chris Benoit? Probably not. Should the WWE mention Chris Benoit after what he did 7 years ago
Shouldn't they?
It has been 7 years since Benoit killed his own family and himself but there are completely different theories. Was steroids involved? Brain damage? There are many different possibilities. But since then, WWE has taken Chris Benoit out of the history books as well as editing him out of classic match footage. Practically unforgivable but understandable.
Still a member of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame, Benoit is still considered the absolute best regarding the circumstances. I respected his work and quite frankly, the situation with him on that fateful day made me question the sport.
But one day, the Benoit family will forgive the WWE for this hypocrisy and shattered hope that things will work out. Unfortunately, that will never happen. Nothing can change the tarnished image of the man they call “The Rabid Wolverine."
And sadly, it never will.
